Chibi calm down. they did they best they culd. besides u know u can always ask them if u are unsure. Nearco has told us many times that he is the one to go to if u have a question. they are almost always on msn or the chat if u need to talk to them.

Re: Rules Questions
Several players got it correct without clarification. I refer to glass as an example.
I didn't know it needed clarification, because no one asked. Masquerade asked, so it got clarified. If you want something clarified, you can ask. This thread is set up for it. You have my msn, you can PM me, there are billions of ways to get things clarified.
In general, guys... we aren't psychic. We don't know what you think is unclear. We realize things won't be clear, since this game is more complex, but we don't know what they are till someone points it out. So, it's up to you guys to point it out.
Also, we made a more complex game because you guys asked for it. But, in future, we will probably stick to simple games again.

This is in the rules given to us under "Additional Rules":
"Pieces cannot be sold for coins. Once you have bought a piece, you keep it."
Do you mean that they can be sold back once the game ends if we never had the chance to place them? Or did that rule suddenly change?

Re: Rules Questions
1. Masq is a player again? O:
2. I would have placed your pieces anyways chibi
3. I dont see how this has a huge impact on the game, unless you plan on hoarding your coins/pieces and placing them all at once

Re: Rules Questions
Just as a general note, as I've said, future rounds will be simpler. Also, we are still looking for another dealer, so they can deal for Sora. I was supposed to only temporarily take over it, but we haven't found a replacement.

Re: Rules Questions
Lol, you guys are making a big fuss out of something really stupid.
First:
When the game ends, you automatically exchange all of your pieces for coins/yen. You can't sell them ingame, though.
Second:
Stop whining, it's just a tiny detail. No one died. Liar Chess is a really complex game, and we are trying our best with it. So far I think we're doing pretty good. Stop trying to give us a hard time, please.
IF you want an explanaition, I used singlar because most of the times you won't be placing a lot of pieces, as the money you have is pretty limited.
I'll explain the rules again. Nearco, confirm these later:
Each turn, you can either make a move or place pieces. You can buy pieces when you feel like. However, placing those consumes a turn. Of course, you can only place YOUR pieces. You can't place someone's else piece.
That means that having one player place every piece would have been stupid, as he would control every piece in the game. As you can see, this mistake doesn't really changes things.
And if it does, our appologies for being human.

Re: Rules Questions
why are people angry that the game that they're playing for free, on a site they're not paying for, for prize money they havent contributed to, isnt perfectly to their liking. dealers, please dont make future games simple to accomodate idiots, make future games hard to accomodate people who who love psychology, strategy, lying, and re-reading the rules over and over.
Point of interest, if for some reason, the dealers were out to get you, were trying to make rules change constantly to catch you out, and generally making ur life hell for their enjoyment, so what? toughen up, and try to win something without being spoon fed by people around you. I find the friendliness of dealers one of the best things about this tournament, it could be so much worse, but it isn't, it's great.
I'm done >_>
But seriously, please dont change the difficulty of the games for morons.

Re: Rules Questions
Don't worry, we won't.
Nearco might be the rules officer, but I'm the game designer. So I can speak with certainity here. The difficulty of the games will still be high, but it's true that they will be simplier to understand.
I will give you guys a hint I already said:
I uderstand that Liar chess is a really intellectual game, that requieres a lot of foward-thinking and a heavy persuasion and lying skill. Therefore, Round 3 will be more of a fun game, instead of a HEAVY game like this one. However, that DOES NOT MEAN AT ALL that it will be easy to win. In fact, it might be even harder than Liar Chess, but I'm sure that you guys will like it and you will have great fun with it and the idea is to give you some time to breath.
In short, a fun game does not mean an easy game, just like an intellectual game does not always mean a hard game.
Round 4 will be another intellectual game, though.
Anyway, keep going with the game. You are all doing a good job.

Markka resigned, he told us he was too busy at the moment, with school and all.
We are currently looking for a replacement, yup. We have a few candidates, but nothing certain so far.

Re: Rules Questions
Xanatos: My apologies for poorly phrasing it. This game is not only complex to play, but complex to explain. The latter is what we wish to avoid in future games. They'll still have lots of complex interactions with other players. Tax game is kinda where we want to be, but preferably not as drawn out. Simple rules, complex game.

Re: Rules Questions
Lets say i moved a piece onto my center square (aka getting 10 coins per turn), would i get these coins after my opponent moves, or after my next move?

Re: Rules Questions
This is a change in rules, but we have reason. It also does not change gameplay.
1) If you wish to transfer yen, include all the relevant information in the title. Otherwise, it will be deleted.
2) Please ensure both participants of the transfer send PMs within 24 hours of each other. Otherwise, it will be void.
The yen transaction rules thread has been modified to include this. And before I get a bunch of whiny bitches complaining that we are changing the rules, GET OVER IT!!!!

Re: Rules Questions
Then you will be asked to choose a lesser piece. Bishop, knight or rook.
If there are not enough coins to accomplish that, it will be brought back to the front row, as if it was freshly bought.
This is another situation where you might learn of the opposing teams balance.

Re: Rules Questions
Just to clarify, if you want to send or receive coins, you need to PM your round dealer.
He will only transfer coins if both the sender and the recipient PM him.
