Rules Questions/Clarifications Empty Rules Questions/Clarifications

A bunch of rules questions/clarifications will be put here:

Just a point regarding inactives (This is in the rules, but I figured I'd clarify)

1) If they do not post for 5 consecutive days, they will be eliminated.

2) As an exception to the rule above, we will not eliminate anyone on the last day. Anyone who would be eliminated at this point instead receives a fine of 100 million yen.

3) Not posting for the posting requirement results in a fine of 10 million yen.

These fines will come from your normal funds, not the funds for this game. It will only influence your ability to buy contracts and purchase revival tickets.

You put the bids in for all other players. If a player is eliminated due to inactivity, then that will reduce the number you need to bid for, but otherwise, yes. We aren't splitting you up or anything.

All zeroes is a tie. That player will choose which four players receive his/her points. S/he'll probably also be in debt, unless he didn't pay anyone, since he won't get any money.

Also, while I'm here, all bids must be multiples of 1000. Since we count your yen as multiples of thousands, we can't work with anything that is not a multiple of 1000. (For the record, 0 is a multiple of 1000).

Clarification to the "All zeroes is a tie" thing. If X people bid on your points, where X<4, those people all gain 1 point for free, and you choose (4-X) people from the remaining to get a point.

Question: If I bid for player A's points, but am not one of the 4 highest bids, what happens to the money I bid?

Answer: You keep it. You only pay for points that you actually get. Similarly, you'll only receive money from the points that you sell.

You receive 100 million yen. At the end of the game, you pay back 100 million yen. For the auctions, you can only use yen received in this game. Contracts may be bought with external funds.

The points are how you win. The 7 players with the most points will proceed to round 4, the other 14 (or less, depending on how many dropouts are around) will go to the revival round.

We'll post what we believe to be the current player list, soon.

You are all auctioneers at the same time. All auctions will resolve on the last day. You send in your bids for all auctions except your own before then. Essentially, you have 10 days to figure out your bids, and make your prerequisite posts here. By the end of the last day, you will need to submit your bids by PM to the dealer.

There should be 22, but this may have dropped due to inactives. (This is why our playerlist might be inaccurate)

In the event of a tie for the most points, well, that's not a problem, since the first 7 get through. In the event of a tie for the 7th largest amount of points (somewhat unlikely), whoever spent the least of their 100 mill will get through. (If there is a 3-way or larger tie for 6th place, the 2 players with the most remaining will get through)

Revival tickets will be 100 million. We are debating whether or not we will have an auction after revival round 3. There will not be an auction for revival round 4.

You will not receive the money from auctions until after the bids. So, you will be unable to use it to bid.

In the event of a tie for the fourth highest bid (in which the auctioneer chooses who wins), the auctioneer will make his choice before seeing the results of other auctions, or the other people to get through on his own auction. That is, if players A and B both pay 10 mill, 3 other players pay more than 10 mill, and all other players pay less than 10 mill, you will only be informed that you need to choose between players A and B. If there is a 5-way tie for first place, you will be told that you need to select 4 players, and we will tell you the players tied.

You may only use money from this round, and if you make a set of bids who's total is larger than 100 million, your bids will not be accepted.

Question: In the event of a tie to determine who gets in to round 4 and who has to go through the revival round, you said that it will be determined by how much was spent on bids. What happens if that doesn't break the tie.

Answer: We will look at how much was won through bids. If that doesn't break the tie, we will put it to a player vote out of those still tied. (Whoever has the most votes will get through). If that is insufficient to break the tie, we will randomly decide out of those remaining. Before we get complaints about randomization, we have put in several steps for you guys to get out of this first.

Question: Do we need to get our final bids in by the 16th?

Answer: Not quite. Lero has given everyone an extention, so you need to get them in by the 17th.

Question: Will you be revealing our bids after they have been calculated?

Answer: No. We will reveal who gets points from who, and how much they are paying for them.
